Door Installation Guide
Installing our iron doors is very simple and quick! It only takes 2 people within 2 hours to install a set of double iron doors by following the instructional steps as below:
STEP 1
Prepare rough opening of existing wooden frame. Adjust opening to make sure it is level, both horizontally and vertically.
Note: The rough opening of existing wooden frame should be 1” wider than the overall iron door frame’s (jamb) width; its height should be 1” taller than the overall height of door frame (jamb) including the complete welded threshold. For example, if the iron door frame is 6’ Ft width by 8’ Ft height, then the rough opening should be 6’ Ft - 1” by 8’ Ft - 1”.
Warning: A larger than required rough opening will lead to the structural weakness of iron door installation and may cause personal injury, property damage, product failure or malfunction.
STEP 2
Silicon seal sub-floor completely to prevent water and air under the threshold.
STEP 3
Set door frame into place. Screw mounting brackets into wooden frame. Install mounting brackets on top and bottom first and adjust door fame while installing others.
STEP 4
Door panel installation. Lift the door panel onto frame hinges and set the door panel into place. Move door panels to make sure they swing smoothly. Check the flush bolts on both top and bottom position.
STEP 5
Glass panel installation. Same way as door panels.
STEP 6
Final check. Open and close door panels several times to make sure everything is all right and you’re Done!
Note: All of our iron doors and components are very heavy. Do not move, unpack or install any of our iron doors or components alone, each install step requires a minimum of two people to perform.
Caution: Our iron doors have been pre-finished and will need to be protected at all times before installation, do not leave them uncovered while the home or building is still under construction. Please use the appropriate protection and procedures when moving or storing any parts of our iron doors to protect the finish from any hard surface.
